Reception
A gentle, happy start to school. Your child learns through play, stories and discovery, heads outdoors for forest play and is cared for by staff who know them well.
A warm, inclusive Catholic primary in north Cambridge, with green space to explore, a brand new library and a free breakfast club for every child.

From the moment you arrive, you'll feel the warmth of the St Laurence family. Faith is a strong part of our ethos and everyday life, and we warmly welcome families of all faiths and none. Ofsted described us as "an inclusive and friendly school where everyone is welcome", and that is what we work for every day: a place where your child is known, cared for and helped to grow in confidence and kindness.

Forest play gives our youngest children the chance to pull on their waterproofs and head outdoors in every season. They build, explore and discover the natural world together, growing in confidence, curiosity and resilience along the way.

Our grounds give children space to simply be children. From the school field and lunchtime football to the climbing frames and tyre swing, there is always somewhere to run, play and make friends in the fresh air.

Our brand new library is a calm, inviting space filled with stories to discover. Your child can browse, borrow and share books with friends, building a love of reading that stays with them for life.

Every child can join our free breakfast club from 8.15am, so the day starts fed, settled and ready to learn. Robins, our wraparound care run by our own staff, opens from 7.30am and runs until 6pm in term time.

Year 1 builds on everything your child learned in Reception, so reading, writing and number grow with confidence through plenty of hands-on, creative learning.

Children are encouraged to aim high, enjoy clubs, trips and performances, and take on responsibility as House Captains and Vice Captains.
